Sussex Mad independence

First of all I would like state that I either do work or have worked in the last couple of years for:

Focus on Mental Health - Member
UserQ - Website editor and event photographer
Woodland Patients Council - Member
Lewes Mind - Event technical support and photographer
Hastings Mind - Photography teacher
47a - Volunteer worker
Focus Social Group - Facilitator
Rother Wellbeing Network - Facilitator and teacher
Plus a few others

The reason for that list is so that I can be honest about how independent the site is, although I have been / am still involved with them, they do not have any control over this site and although I would accept news and articles from them, they would be treated in the same way as an article from anybody else.

The independence of this site is very important to me, I don't have anything against 'official' sites, I just think that some sites can get away with more if they are independent 8o) That does also work both ways, I don't want to be labeled as just another branch of Mind / UserQ / Focus etc. but also I would not people to look down on them if I say something bad on here.

If anybody either independent, NHS worker or working for any other organisation has anything they want featured on this site, please send it to me and I promise I will have a look.

I like going to conferences and meetings promoting the organisations I have been involved with, but I am also willing to come along as an independent service user. So if you have an event and would like an independent service user to come along and give you his views then I am very willing. I would not want any payment for my time, but help with travel expenses does come in very handy!!!

On that subject I would like to add that one of the only disadvantages of running an independent site is that I don't get paid! So I apologise for the adverts on the bottom of the pages, please do consider visiting some of them, I really am NOT out to make any profit from this site at all, just need help to cover the costs. Of course if anybody wants to make a donation towards the costs that would be even better!
