Mad about Sussex? or just Mad!

A site called Sussex Mad, does that mean I am mad about Sussex? Well there are much worse places than Sussex to live (I have lived in a few) and probably a few better ones to live in too, but thats not what this site is about anyway.

This Sussex Mad site is really about living or working in Sussex and having or working with people who have mental health problems of some sort.

In the South there are a few nice big official Mental Health / Service User sites and lots of small independent ones, I want this site to sit somewhere in the gap in the middle.

This site was designed mainly as a place to give Mental Health Service Users from Sussex and beyond an independent place to share news and events with anybody interested.

The plans are to make it a friendly, informal place thats actually an interesting resource for people to visit, where jargon will be kept to a minimum and not full of all the technical crap that some of the sites out there seem to like. Don't take that the wrong way though. I don't intend to talk down to the "poor stupid service users", I just can't see the point in using lots of long words that people cannot be bothered to read and waffling on for pages, just to say things that could have been said in a few lines of readable text. On the subject of "poor stupid service users", I would also like to say that the three smartest people I know (As in very high IQs) are either service users now or have been in the past.
